To begin with, CDG is the most common airport for entry into Paris. At @parisaeroport you can get your passes like the Navigo Decouverte or Paris Pass but be prepared for snaking queues or you can get a ticket to Paris on the @sncf auto-vending machines and get on your way. Once you solve the puzzle i.e. the CDG airport, you can find a place to stay for the night like we did at @ibishotels or you can hop on the next train out of there🚝.
The train ride is an eye opener, if its your first time, since it may shatter some illusions. On the bright side, the 1 hour train ride allows you to see the locals get on and off the train and on and about their daily lives, while also watching the French country side go by the train window. On certain stretches you may experience some crowd and even occasionally come across a person asking for alms. Maybe not what you would expect on your visit to notionally the most perfect city in the world. But this is what is essential, for it allows you to understand the reality of life.
The best part of travel is that it allows one to enjoy the differences of a new place but for the observant, it always, without fail, introduces you to the blatant similarities there exists, all around the world. C’est la vie!
