“Mount of Martyrs” is a rich and diverse locality built in the hilly part of Paris. It has a great soul to it and although in the past it was a working class neighborhood it has now transformed quite a lot and for years has been a major draw not just for tourists and artists but also for scam artists, so beware!
Best advice : Don’t engage with random strangers!
The narrow stairways and curvy alleyways throw at you beautiful sunsets ⛅, our favourite in Paris. It is a colourful and lively area that can be best enjoyed on foot, but be prepared for the unplanned workout though, for, even simple walks on the streets of Montmartre can seem like a trek. Alternatively you can hitch a ride on the ‘Montmatrobus’ which are cute little buses that we used to get from the bottom of Sacré-Cœur basilica to Pigalle.
We now realize how interesting the start and end point for this bus ride we took was. Meaning no offence to local beliefs, we would like to think both these places of worship, lead you to the same place in the heavens.
