Museums, art, structures, history, river cruise, churches, gardens or people watching. Paris has it all, but the question is what do you like?

Do not go to a museum just because someone said “You have to see the Mona Lisa” for it will consume an entire day. Do not go to the top of the Eiffel after hours in line to get there because someone said “That’s the most romantic thing to do”

Choose what you like and spend your time in Paris doing that.

On days we felt like relaxing and doing people-watching we chose to sit in one of the many beautiful gardens in Paris where you can see mostly locals enjoying a quiet time or on a picnic with family or playing the game of Pétanque!

With a casual drink or smoke in one hand and the péntaque boule in the other, we saw people enjoying this game that we never knew about! (There are Pétanque international championships even).

In the parks we observed people, some who appeared to have just gotten off office work, playing Pétanque in teams. In layman’s terms, Pétanque appears similar to a game of marbles. The small glass marbles however are replaced by metal balls (boules) weighing up to a kilo!!!

We enjoyed learning about this game and the fondness of it for the locals, from our visit to the park. On our next visit we are keen to play it with the locals (if they excuse our miserable attempts) who knows we could end up winning a round even!

Played Pétanque? Share some tips please😁
