The mention of Château de Versailles or the Palace of Versailles is ubiquitous to all history books around the world. It was home to many a historic events that shaped Europe and the rest of the world.

A 30-40 minute train ride from Paris, a visit to Versailles is a must. The palace can be easily reached from the train station by foot. Be prepared for the 3-Hour long queues though. A trick to skip this queue is that when booking your tickets online, book a fixed time ticket. It is at the same cost at 10€ and allows you express entry sans the queue, the only ask is that you have to be there at the entry gate at the time mentioned in your ticket.

The visit itself can be divided into 2 parts:

1. The Grand Palace
2. The Gardens with mini palaces adorning it.

It is difficult to cover it all in a single visit, for the palace complex covers 2,014 acres of land and we recommend you do it in 2 visits or cover only places of key interests on your only visit.

Do carry water bottles and an easy snack and follow our tips to skip the queue.
