Part 2/4

In the paintings of the castle by Gustave Courbet, you notice the trees on the coastline and the rocky boundaries containing the calm Lac Léman waters.

These are still preserved as is, and if the famous painter had decided to redo the painting in the 21st century, not just the castle but the entire background would turn out to be almost entirely identical. This is especially interesting, because we get to see exactly what these artists and poets saw a few centuries ago. It is like witnessing starlight, a view from the past or even the future, it really does not matter.

Time, could literally come to a standstill when you stop to admire the views of the castle. And the road to the castle is peppered with such unmarked checkpoints that are at the explorer’s taking. You can pause at one of the rocky shores of Lac Léman, meters away from the castle to take your pictures.

We saw very few people do that besides us, so it also gave us a moment to enjoy this special view in private.

If you have already visited which has been your favourite spot to take a picture of the Château?
