The map of Paris can be divided into 20 arrondissements (which basically are administrative districts), starting from the famous Louvre Museum in the 1st arr. moving in a clockwise direction resembling the shell of a snail we end up in the Père Lachaise Cemetery (pun unintended) on the 20th arr. That’s about it, that’s Paris for you. We like to think of it as a family, where each member has a different personality but all have the same family name.

Though that is not the case with most visitors to this beautiful city. Unbeknownst to them, their experience of Paris is usually defined by the select few arr where most of the “bucket list” attractions are concentrated.

Getting to know Paris is getting to know how all its parts mesh together, and if you can afford the liberty, we recommend you do this.

For every visit to Paris, try covering 2 famous arr. with 3 fairly underrepresented ones, Spend more time in the famous ones if you like it, this way you get to thoroughly enjoy the 2, while also get a flavour of the other 3. This according to us is the best way to go about Paris!

Which is your favourite arrondissement de Paris?
